Public Works

Public Works Administration controls and coordinates the efforts of eight divisions. The varied workforce provides crucial services to the residents of Del City. Water production and distribution as well as sewer collection and processing provide essential services to the city.  The Department of Public Works is proud to provide essential services to the residents of Del City.

Sewerline Maintenance

  • Maintains 98 miles of sewerline, 2,251 manholes, and all city main lines
  • Provides emergency service 24/7/365
  • Conducts video inspections of sewerlines
  • Uses smoke testing to locate breaks and crossovers to storm sewer system

 

Waterline Maintenance

  • Maintains 106 miles of water main lines
  • Responsible for reading roughly 8,000 water meters monthly
  • Dedicated to continuous operation of the water distribution system city-wide

 

Streets & Parks Divisions

  • Maintains approximately 120 miles of streets throughout city
  • Responsible for maintaining roads and traffic control signs
  • Provides equipment operators to mow on city properties and right-of-ways
  • Responsible for snow and ice removal throughout city
  • Maintains drainage facilities throughout city
  • Maintains city parks, preparing for guests and ensuring safety of equipment

 

Water Treatment Plant
