Development Services is responsible for plan review, permitting, inspections and occupancy for both new and existing structures. This division provides a single point of contact for property owners, contractors, design professionals and developers wishing to participate in positive redevelopment of our community.
Unlike many cities, our goal is to make the plan review, permitting, inspection and occupancy processes as easy as possible. Development Services provides "pre-plan" and "plan review" meetings that link permit applicants with department heads and senior staff in all relevant city departments, all at no charge to the applicant. All plans, specifications and applications are submitted to one centralized point of contact, reducing frustration for applicants and review time for staff.
Del City's current adopted codes include the 2015 I-Codes and the 2014 NEC. Del City has also adopted a number of additional standards to assist in the redevelopment of the community. All codes and other requirements can be found in the Del City Code of Ordinances (particularly in Chapter 5, Buildings and Building Regulations).
